Talking to it instead of typing. The microphone in the web chat bar works today; the desktop half is kept for the day the Windows app is back.
In the desktop app
NoteThis half cannot be used today. The download page has no installer while the Windows app is rebuilt around accounts, so Ctrl+Shift+V and the toolbar microphone are how speaking to the app will work when it is back. The web microphone, further down, works now.
Hold Ctrl+Shift+V (or the toolbar microphone) and speak; release to stop. What you said appears as a draft in the chat box, so you can fix a word before sending. If you prefer, it can send by itself after 1.2 seconds of silence. Language is detected automatically; noise suppression is on. The microphone, the silence timer, the language and the draft behaviour are in Settings.
On the web
The microphone in the chat bar uses your browser's own speech recognition (Chrome and Edge). Speak, and the words land in the box; press send when you are done.
