Install on Windows

Requirements

• Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
• About 80 MB of disk space
• An internet connection (the AI runs on our servers; your files stay on your PC)
• A PocketPhantom account with a subscription; the desktop app logs in with the same email and password as the website

The installer

Download PocketPhantom-Setup.exe from the Download page. It always points at the latest build. Run it; there are no options to choose. PocketPhantom appears in the Start menu and starts when the installer finishes.

The first run

1. 1Sign in: enter the email and password of your account, the same as on the website, and press Log in.
2. 2The tour: a few screens show the toolbar and the keys. Ctrl+Shift+Space opens the chat; F8 hides the app from screen capture.
3. 3Folders: the app has no file access until you grant a folder. The first time a task needs one, it asks. See Files.

Updates

The app checks for a new version when it starts and downloads it in the background. When it is ready, an Update window tells you and the new version is in place after a restart. You never download the installer again.

Starting with Windows

Off by default. Turn on Launch at startup in Settings, General, if you want the toolbar there when you log in; Start minimized keeps it out of the way until you press a key.

Uninstall

Windows Settings, then Apps, then PocketPhantom, then Uninstall. Log out first (Settings, Account, Log out on this computer) if you want to free that computer immediately; otherwise it frees itself the next time the subscription checks in.
